The war began for Tetiana Subota, a resident of Kyiv, with a call from her sister. Tetiana’s family was still sleeping when her sister called in the morning and said: “They are shooting at us”. That’s when Tetiana looked out the window and saw the smoke from the explosions. The next day, the family left for a village in the Kyiv region. They returned in the autumn.

Before they returned, Tetiana decided to join the volunteer movement. She accidentally found such a centre when she visited a sewing shop at the market. Now she calls herself a “combat spider” and lives by this schedule: In summer, she works at her dacha, and in winter she makes nets for our military, bringing victory closer. Useful gifts created by Tetiana and other volunteers are also sent to her own son, who is also currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
