«Everyone said, "You are lucky that you're alive"

We have lived here for so many years. I went to school here. One day I was told, "The house is not suitable for restoration." Anyway. No one cares. No one wants to hear about someone else's problems. Nobody. To lose it all ... Oh, God…

Before it all happened, I put the house in order.... What a bad luck! I planted a lemon tree. I guess it must have felt it, too... I kept the small lemon tree in the house. I have never seen anything like this before, it bloomed like never before. I could barely see the leaves. I thought the trunk wouldn't hold so much fruit. And it must have felt it. It finished blooming, and only two green fruits remained. Once it finished blooming, a misfortune happened.

I think the tree must have felt it…

They shooted back and forth in the evening. I said, "How am I going to get into the cellar? What will I do there?" I was sitting in the audience, watching TV when  I saw sparks coming from the tree. Electricity went out. I thought, ""What should I do?"

Then the neighbor shouted across the street ,"You're burning!" The firemen came too late. I thought they would put the fire out. I thought it was not a big deal.

I wanted to go out, but I couldn't. A branch fell off and propped the front door. I couldn't  leave the house. The neighbours drew me out.

I thought that the fire situation was not that bad. The roof corner was burning. I thought the firemen would put it out right away. Instead of taking things out of the house, neighbours started to put out the fire. The neighbor next door helped as well. They carried buckets of water  to the roof. Wind was a problem.

There was a sofa, a big TV, a sewing machine, a foot massaging machine, carpets on the floor, a carpet on the wall, pillows... There was a lot of bed linen. Everything was new.

Now everything is gone. It doesn't seem to be my house any more. This is some kind of mistake.

We were waiting for firemen for so long. They came and said, "We don't have any water." Luckily, it was brought. They connected all hoses. How can they pour the water up, to the roof? The yard was flooded, and the house was on fire. They should have broken the roof but save my belongings in the house. There is nothing left in the house. The earth burned for two days.

Everyone said, "You are lucky that you're alive. And I said, "I guess." Overall, I was happy here. Now everything seems strange.
