Cyril is a student who volunteered during the war and helped with the defense. The guy died under the rubble of the Kharkiv regional state administration. He was identified only by a DNA test.
“Kyrylo is a hero. Since the very beginning of the war, he was a volunteer, helping to save Kharkiv and the country,” – these were the words of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, telling about the death of their student.
The boy studied computer science. He lived in the dormitory. He had come to study in Kharkiv from Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.
When the students of the Institute were evacuated because of the shelling of the city, Osipenko didn’t leave. Instead, he started helping the territorial defense troops as a volunteer.
His mother had been looking for him for two weeks. His body was taken from under the rubbles of the Kharkiv State Regional Administration, which was shelled by Russia on March 1. It was impossible to recognize him. The family received the confirmation of Kyrylo’s death by the DNA test.
