"We had nowhere to go back from the sea"

When the war started, we were by the seaside. We left for a couple of weeks, taking only beach things with us. As a result, we stayed there for three months.

In the first months of the war Netailovo was under heavy shelling attacks. We had nowhere to go back to. Then our life turned into vagrancy. We changed apartments, cities, and schools.

Two years later, we persuaded my mother to come home. All the moves have affected our academic performance and made our studies worse, but our teachers are pulling us up.

We hurry home after school to babysit our younger sister. My mother is taking care of my grandmother, who suffered a compound leg fracture.

Job situation for my mother is very difficult. There are two shops in the village, but there are no businesses operational. Before the war broke out, my mother worked in Donetsk and provided for the family. But now only one-parent benefits are the only income.
