Tetiana Us survived the occupation in Borodianka. The Russian military set up a checkpoint near her house. As soon as they heard that the residents were drawing water from the well, they opened fire. For almost three weeks, the family could not leave the gate. But Tetiana had to look after her sick elderly neighbour through the fence, and feed the abandoned animals on the other side.

At her own risk, the woman climbed a ladder into neighbouring yards almost every day. She risked being shot at any moment, but she could not leave the needy to their fate. One day, the occupiers came to interrogate them. Tetiana was most worried about her husband... but he was spared.

At the end of the occupation, she witnessed the looting carried out by the Russian military.
