At the beginning of the invasion, Anastasiia Nikitina worked in Bakhmut's maternity hospital. Many people, including future mothers, did not believe that a terrible war was possible and remained in the city. A safe place for them to give birth was set up in the hospital's basement. Air raid alerts were often heard in Bakhmut, so the safety of mothers and children was of primary importance.
