Since March 2022, a large humanitarian center for IDPs called “Hospitable House” has been operating in Odesa. Every day, hundreds of displaced families are helped here. Among the volunteers and staff of this center are IDPs from Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Melitopol, Izyum and other cities. Among them is Kateryna, a resident of Kherson. She had been under occupation for 9.5 months, waiting for the city to be liberated from russian troops. But the family did not rejoice for long. The occupiers began to heavily shell Kherson. Kateryna’s house, as well as her parents’, ended up in the “red zone”. So, the family moved to Odesa.
