Volunteer Volodymyr Bezymianov lost his arm as a result of a russian air strike on the Kupiansk community on March 2, 2024. He was transporting things for the military and stopped for coffee near a café. A russian guided aerial bomb weighing 250 kg hit the place. Everyone who was nearby was killed!

The volunteer’s life was saved by medics who got lost on the road and accidentally drove straight to the site of the attack.

Volodymyr was born and raised in Luhansk region. He set up a business in the service and transport sector there. For him, the war began in 2014. In August, the family had to urgently leave their home – the “basement” was already waiting for Volodymyr.

They started a new life in Kharkiv. Despite the difficulties, they resumed their business. When the war knocked on the door again in 2022, Volodymyr joined the volunteer movement. At the time of this interview, almost a year had passed since his injury. Volodymyr still suffers from phantom pain, but continues his mission to help. He shared his war story during his rehabilitation in Zakarpattia, which was provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
