Viktoriia, a vocal teacher at the Zmina Art Lyceum, was preparing for a children’s party on the eve of the full-scale invasion. But instead of joyful applause, the first explosions were heard. On the same day, Viktoriia left for her home village in the Zhytomyr region and was able to see Kyiv only in May. She was not afraid, she was amazed by the deserted streets and ruined buildings of the capital. Viktoriia wasn’t afraid even when the fragments of a missile fell on the roadway near her house – she had already returned to her favourite job and continued to live her creative life. After all, singing, and especially Ukrainian songs, helps to survive the most difficult emotions and times.
