Bohdan Stefanyshyn died near Chernihiv on March 30. He suffered death while delivering humanitarian aid to the people – his car was shot by the russians.
Oleksandra Ustynova, the head of Holos parliamentary faction, said that Bohdan Stefanyshyn went to the military commissariat on the very first day of the war; after standing in line for 10 hours, he was told that they had more than enough, so he started helping with the humanitarian aid and getting people out of hell from Kyiv suburbs at first, then from Chernihiv.
“Today Bohdan, the husband of Olha Stefanyshyn, died as a Hero, trying to save others. I don’t want and can’t believe it. Olia said that when they had started leaving together, Bohdan was against buying cheese, called “Russian” because the name is damned. His family from Kolomyia went through all the circles of Soviet hell, and he knew from his early childhood who those damned moskals [russians] were. We had our favorite song, which he got me hooked on – “Ukraine is me.” Ukraine is you, Bodia,” – said Oleksandra Ustynova, sharing her memories.
