On the morning of February 24, Tetiana went to the swimming pool because she could not accept the fact that the war had started. She even packed her emergency bag for work so that it contained the least necessary things. Now she recalls it with humour.
Suddenly, her quiet Obolon neighbourhood in Kyiv became one of the loudest in the city. From her window, Tetiana saw a tank run over a car. There were constant explosions.
But people rallied together. They helped not only each other, but also pets who were left without their owners.
And when her cat went out on the balcony for the first time in months, Tetiana realised that it was all over and the enemy had retreated.
