Larysa fed up to 1,000 people a day. In March 2022, a crowd of half-dressed, hungry, shocked people fled Borodianka. They were all housed in a school in the village of Piskivka. Some quickly moved on, and others stayed for a long time.
Feeding all these people became Larysa’s life’s work. She didn’t know what was happening around Piskivka, she didn’t have time to eat herself. All her energy was spent on supporting the people of Borodianka. But she was not alone - the refugees themselves were constantly offering help. Humanitarian aid came: first from abroad, and later from western Ukraine.
Larysa left Piskivka after the last Borodian left the school. Five days later, she returned to her native village.
