Victoriia is the deputy director of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Museum of Local Lore. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, she went to work. She did not fully understand what to do. Calls from Melitopol made it clear that the enemy was approaching too fast and that evacuation was necessary. On 4 March, the first stage of the evacuation of the most expensive exhibits took place. The most valuable items were taken out of the city's main museums.Â
Later, volunteers began to rescue exhibits from cities where the war was coming close. Thus, part of the collection from the Orikhiv museum was evacuated. The local history museum was also damaged. One of the rocket attacks on Zaporizhzhia took place near the building. The windows were smashed. The museum is now open, although not at full capacity.
