We moved here from Horlivka nine years ago. We looked for peace and quiet in Novoluhanske. At that time, we could not have imagined that after seven years of housing arrangement, it would be completely destroyed. The charred remains of the walls and a broken doghouse are the result of last year's shelling.
Eight projectiles landed on 20 acres of land we owned — three shells fell in the house, the fell in rest near the garage, in the corner of the neighbor's house, in the garden… My wife has a 9-gram fragment stuck in her lung. During the attack, she had to run to the basement already seriously wounded. But the instinct of self-preservation still worked –blood-stained, she saved her elderly parents. Only when she went to the basement, she felt that she was losing consciousness.
That fragment still reminds us of that fatal day, and we cherish it as a talisman.
We still live under fire. Our village is not far from Horlivka and Debaltseve.
