What happened to her is amazing - a story of true Ukrainian resilience!

Iryna Korchahina took her pregnant friend and sick husband out of occupied Mariupol.

During the evacuation, she came under mortar fire, sustained an injury to her right leg and, despite the pain, continued to drive the car.

She drove as long as she could to get everyone to safety, but ended up in hospital and had to learn to walk again.

In spring, Iryna underwent rehabilitation at the Borzhava health resort in Zakarpattia. Her story was told to the Museum of Civilian Voices by the well-known Ukrainian presenter Oleksiy Sukhanov.
