Nataliia’s son went to work in Bucha on the morning of February 24 and never returned. The woman stayed at home; she was not planning to flee because she could not leave her father behind. With each passing day, there were fewer and fewer people left in the village. Neighbors were leaving with their whole families; cars formed convoys, but she stayed. The scariest moments came when the fires started. One of her neighbors, an elderly woman, burned alive in her own house. Nataliia prayed and placed all her hope in God.
