Hanna Panasenko

"My heart was aching, I wanted to cry, but I had to act, to help in some way"

On July 8, 2024, during a massive Russian missile attack on Kyiv, Hanna was hiding in the subway. Immediately after the alarm went off, she ran to the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, which had been hit by an enemy missile. Together with everyone else, she helped as much as she could. No one set any specific tasks, so people did what was needed at that moment. Someone was clearing the rubble, someone was carrying water, someone was helping wounded children.
