18-year-old Maksym Pavlov and his family lived in Enerhodar. His brother, who lived in Kharkiv, called on February 24 in the morning. He told them that the full-scale invasion had begun.
“We were occupied. A missile hit a control unit. We were terrified. My father went to the ZNPP. The Russians were already there. Sounds of gunfire were heard in the street. A flag at the city council was taken down. People were fighting the invaders with their bare hands,” recalls Maksym.
