Alina Solodka, a resident of Yasnohorodka, talks about her life during the great war, which began on February 24, 2022. She recalls how she initially did not believe in the threat, although her relatives warned of a possible russian attack. The woman then worked as a saleswoman in a village store. The supply of food had to be limited in the first days: people panicked and bought up everything. Alina made sure that everyone had enough.
The worst situation was for residents of the capital, who were in the village at the beginning of war without any supplies. The most terrible memories are rocket attacks and enemy aircraft. And also - people's attempts to leave on foot.
Singing in the amateur folk ensemble "Yasen-tsvit" became a way to escape the horrors of war and find peace of mind. For Alina, this is also a way to preserve her identity and culture in difficult times.
