The first shelling of the village of Yasnohorodka, 30 kilometres from Kyiv, began on February 27, 2022, and the rate of fire increased every day. As a result of the shelling, houses and local infrastructure were destroyed, and soldiers from the territorial defence were killed when the russians shot at a checkpoint.

Nataliia Herasymenko, who heads the local house of culture, witnessed many terrible events. Later, together with her children, she left the village.

When she returned to Yasnohorodka, she immediately joined new, modern projects. One of them is the development of the youth and children's space "Unconquered." The educational movement was founded in 2022. The goal is to support local children and youth. Ms. Nataliia also promotes the amateur folk ensemble "Yasen-tsvit" which cherishes and preserves Ukrainian traditions.
