Oleksandra Makoviy

“After the first explosions, I started shaking, and I ‘signed’ my daughter”

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Oleksandra Makovii from Kyiv wrote her contacts on her daughter’s back. She was so scared for her child! What if she got lost? What if they were separated? What if something happened to Oleksandra herself? Vira Makovii’s photo with her mother’s number on her back went viral. Many Ukrainian mothers, taking their cue from Oleksandra, also “signed” their children.
