More than seven hundred people were all at the epicenter of the morning attack by the Russians on January 2nd, 2024 in the city of Vyshneve. As a result of the massive missile attack, several apartment buildings were damaged.
At night, residents of the affected neighborhood began to gather in the bomb shelter of a lyceum. When the first explosions were heard in Kyiv and its suburbs, about two hundred people were already hiding in the shelter.
The lyceum took in the first wave of victims. The educators, along with the rescuers, provided medical and psychological aid. A humanitarian headquarters was deployed. An interview with Nataliia Rudenko, Director of the lyceum, for the Museum of Civilian Voices was recorded on the second day after the missile attack.
