"Icons saved me from death"

We were protected from shell fragments during the shelling by a carpet that hung on the wall. Now there is a huge hole in the wall there. I was about to go to bed when a shell hit the house. I was sitting at the table opposite this wall. So I kept on sitting like that. I didn't understand what was going on.

Icons saved me from death

I believe that I was saved from death by the icons that I embroidered myself. I pray for the health of my grandson Mykhailo, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy 24 years ago. Mykhailo's parents are no longer alive.

We can't restore the house by winter, because we don't have the money. We'll stay in the two remaining rooms. We have no gas supply in the village. Electricity has been cut off for four days. Food prices in stores are very high.
