Raisa Liushnenko is the head of the Velykoluhivchanka amateur women’s folk group in Zhytomyr region. For her, this group is a big family, united by a love of Ukrainian song and responsibility for preserving cultural heritage. Their repertoire includes more than 300 songs, each of which sounds like a bridge between the past and the future. The war changed the focus: creativity became not only art but also a charitable mission. Today, the participants direct all concert proceeds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine – with deep gratitude and a dream of the day when they will meet the soldiers with a song, bread and salt and sing together about Ukraine’s victory.
