For Olena, the full-scale war began with the first explosions in her city of Kherson and the surrounding area. On the first day, there were also explosions in Chornobaivka. She could hear the shooting, see the panic of the people and feel the terrifying atmosphere. russian troops entered the city the next day, and she saw them from her window. Olena had to walk to her parents' house because public transport was out of order. On the way, she saw the consequences of the hostilities - broken windows and shell casings. She stayed in Kherson throughout the occupation. She lived without electricity, water and cooked on the street. Olena remembers when Ukrainian troops liberated Kherson. Locals took to the streets, hugged each other and cried with happiness.
