After Iryna saw tanks on the streets of Kyiv, the decision was made - it was necessary to take the children to a safer place. A small village, Makiivka, in the Chernihiv region, where Iryna’s parents lived, seemed like the perfect option at that time. Who knew that just a few days later, the Kadyrovites with the buryats would enter the village? For a month and a half, the woman, along with her children and elderly parents, lived under occupation, watching in horror and disbelief as those who called themselves "liberators" behaved. What saved them was that the house was on the outskirts, where military vehicles couldn’t reach. It was true happiness to see the faces of the Ukrainian soldiers who finally liberated the village.
