Together with her husband, Liudmyla lived in Mariupol on Kuprina Street, opposite the Azovskyi market. It was the first line of defence. We spent 10 days sleeping in basements, on cold pipes. One day, a bomb was dropped into the yard.
«The heavy fire did not stop, debris was flying. We crawled to the basement. We ran to hospital no. 2. I worked in anaesthesiology, my daughter worked in the X-ray room. The hospital was heavily bombed. Arrivals from 3:30 am - Grads, bombs. Hungry, cold, no water or food. We did not take anything with us. We slept on the floor. Hot water without tea is a holiday.
A large number of wounded. My son-in-law carried both the wounded and the dead. They cut napkins for operating theatres from gauze. It was scary. Many people came running from the burning houses. My husband could not walk well, so I dragged him to the basement. She tore her knee. On March 7, we ran to the hospital, but on the 9th our house was gone. We left only on March 26.
What was it for? What were they liberating us from? 33 Kuprina Street. Our house was demolished. A new house for Russians is being built in its place», said Liudmyla, a resident of Mariupol.
