Mykola from Oleshky, in the Kherson region, faced the russian occupation in his hometown. The first weeks under the occupation were tense: the city suddenly became filled with enemy soldiers who behaved with impunity. The lack of gas became one of the biggest problems. Food had to be cooked on a fire right in the yard. And the constant shelling only increased the tension. Explosions could be heard every day. The houses of many of Mykola’s neighbours were damaged, especially after the city was flooded.
