Oleksandr and his family met the war in the suburbs of Kharkiv, a region that was one of the first to be shelled by russia during the full-scale invasion. On the third day of the russian aggression, the bombing of the village where the boy lived began. All 15 people hid in one small basement for 6 days. During the war, Oleksandr lost his aunt. The story of Oleksandr Vasko is a reflection of the suffering of many Ukrainian children who became victims of war. The boy shared his memories as part of the project “Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful Rest for Children of Ukraine”.
