Tetiana's story is a horrific account of life in Mariupol in March 2022. When the house across the street could have collapsed under a bomb. When the bodies of acquaintances were recognised only by the socks on their feet.
Water for her daughter and grandchildren was more important than her own life. And shock was becoming the norm.
Tetiana was also one of the first to leave Mariupol on foot. On March 7, 13 people took the risk and got out. The Russians took them to Taganrog. And from there, across Europe, Tetiana managed to return to Ukraine.
