Lina is a guardian of Ukrainian heritage and warmth — the kind of warmth that is now so needed on the front line. In the local museum, she personally collects and preserves Ukrainian clothing, embroidered towels, dishes, and old household items. For her, every shirt or towel is a story — about people, about home, about who we are. But with the start of the full-scale war, Lina has not only preserved the past — she has begun creating help for the present. She makes trench candles: from tin cans, cardboard, and wax. She sits for hours, patiently, because she knows — these candles will warm the hands and souls of those in the trenches. She also creates motanka dolls. Each one has a soul, each one is a talisman. She takes these dolls to fairs, sells them, and donates the proceeds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
