Zoia is a librarian from Hostomel. At the beginning of the hostilities, she sheltered several families in her basement. Together they survived shelling, food and water shortages. However, this was not the decisive reason for leaving. The children simply could not stand it psychologically. And then Zoia and her fellow survivors decided to evacuate on their own.

They had to jump out of the car and fall to the ground, but she and her neighbours eventually managed to get out of the war zone. Zoia has always remembered the taste of bread stick and bread that she was treated to in a house where she spent the night during her escape.

And when she returned to Hostomel, it turned out that the library had survived. And people were drawn there for peace and communication.
