Hanna well remembers how the war first came into her life back in 2014. At that time she was the director of the People’s House in Bakhmut, and after the liberation of the city she brought there the largest flag of Ukraine – it was unfolded at the stadium on Flag Day in 2015. It was an act of faith and love: “We are Ukraine. We love our land. We support freedom.”
The full-scale war took away the most precious – the city where her heart remained forever. But it could not take away the main thing – the love for her native land. Today Hanna works at the Department of Culture of the Bakhmut City Council, organizes cultural events for the people of Bakhmut – meetings filled with deep meaning and with one great dream: to revive Bakhmut and to bring life back into it.
