The Nebelitsa village, located almost on the border between Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, was under massive shelling at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Fortunately, Lidiia Hulak was not there to see it. A few days before the invasion, she had undergone surgery, and on the first day of the war, she and her family went to Zakarpattia because she needed medical care.
She returned home in May 2022. Lidiia's house was damaged by shell fragments, and there was a large crater in the yard. Despite her weak health, she immediately joined a local volunteer group. She prepares materials for the nets at home. She cuts the ribbons for several hours every day, during the day and at night. She also reads prayers for the guys at the front, including her nephew. He has been fighting since the first days.
Lidiia dreams of a peaceful future for her granddaughter, hoping that she will get an education and find her place in life. Lidiia wants to live to see the victory and celebrate it with dancing.
