"My house was completely destroyed by shells"

We are internal refugees from Donetsk. We have lived in Mariupol for almost a year, but we still haven't forgotten how we came under fire several times, hid in basements and starved. We also lived in a bomb shelter – a damp and cold basement where a lot of people hid. People brought us what they could. We put blankets and pillows on the floor.

My house was completely destroyed by shells

I moved in last year when my house was completely destroyed by shells. Second son Mykyta was born in Mariupol. We rent an apartment, and the older son Ihor goes to school. However, we can't let go of the past. Igor is still going through it all over again.

One day, when we were outside with him, explosions went off. He threw the stroller with Mykyta and left. I started screaming, "What are you doing?" And he told me, "Mum, I'm afraid, let's not go anywhere." We turned to psychologists for help.
