Viktoriia Kolmykova lost her son Roman on March 16, 2022. That day, he was on a combat mission on the right bank of Mariupol. His life was cut short by a sniper shot. A few hours before the tragedy, Roman told his mother: «Mom, I’m happy that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.» Viktoriia learned about her son’s death only seven months later.

Today, the woman lives, continuing her son's work. She talks about the heroic defense of Mariupol, organizes meetings with young people and Lessons of Invincibility. Roman was one of those who in the most difficult days wrote to his family: «Mom, everything will be Ukraine. Raise our children as Ukrainians.» His words still inspire Victoriia not to stop. In the younger generation, she sees the future that her son dreamed of building.
