March 16, 2022. An air strike on the Drama Theater. “My daughter was boarding a window when a massive explosion erupted. I fell on the floor. Is my child alive? Half of the room was gone. A pile of rubble where the ceiling and walls were. People were screaming. Fire,” recalls Olena. She is a doctor specializing in rehabilitation medicine. That’s why she provided medical assistance to people all that time. When her neighbor, who had the same name, was killed in an air strike, Olena took her son, Sasha, in. Later, she became the boy’s legal guardian.
