"I was discharged from the hospital. A shell fell into the window right when we left!"

War is a filthy thing, it is darkness, it is the Passion of God. It mutilates children. It leaves them without arms, without legs. People have to die. Avdiivka used to be such a wonderful place! There were so many people here. Now so few are left.

I was discharged from the hospital. A shell fell into the window right when we left!

Shelling attacks were intense. They caused a lot of destruction. Our house and the barn were destroyed. There are a lot of holes in the garden from shells. People had to hide in bomb shelters. A sniper hit our house, right into the chest of drawers. My husband was injured. He was covered in sawdust. And I just turned away for a bit. I was lucky. Otherwise, I think my head would have been wounded.

I was discharged from the hospital. A shell fell into the window right when we left!

It is very hard to remember. I just wish peace came. I don't want to look back at what had happened – shells. Grads, firing.  The fell right on the kitchen garden.

I tried to pull my husband with all those fragments inside him. His leg was torn. I was also severely concussed. He was messed up pretty bad. His intestine were just lying around. His trousers were torn. Neither an ambulance not a fire vehicle didn't come. Luckily, the neighbour brought a padded jacket, put it in the car. We took him to the hospital immidiately. Blood was pouring from him. He seemed dead. Thank God, doctors saved him!

The hospital had no water. The light was cut off. Son brought water there. There were no pills, nothing. Can you just imagine this? We were discharged at 10 o'clock. A shell hit the hospital window right when we left. Can you imagine this?

The attack that day was terrible. We lived in fear. We were so afraid. He suffered from all this for five years. His heart just gave in. So he passed away. We buried on 5 January 2019. It has been a year since he died. We hope that maybe they will stop, but there is no stopping to this. At least, we haven't seen it yet.

I was discharged from the hospital. A shell fell into the window right when we left!

My husband was a very kind and caring person. He really liked chopping wood. Everything has burned, including the wood. Everything, there is nothing left.

Now I have to do cut the wood myself. I have to do everything myself. I have stoke up myself. And what's the point of resting? Work is the cure from all diseases. You are alive when you move. I get up early in the morning, made some tea, and went to throw away the snow.

I was discharged from the hospital. A shell fell into the window right when we left!

I just wish peace came. Once peace comes, we will go back to the way we lived before. Only then will we feel better.
