“When there were 10 explosions at the oil towers, I ripped the door out of my hand”

Vladyslav Ustianskyi, an audiologist from Odesa, has been helping patients with various hearing impairments for many years. He diagnoses, selects and adjusts hearing aids. He collaborates with charitable foundations that help people hear the world.

The first russian airstrikes on Odesa were carried out on the first day of the invasion, in the early morning of February 24, 2022. On that day, many residents were leaving the city, but Vlad was on his way to the center to meet with a young patient. Vlad's wife was pregnant at the time, but despite the heavy shelling, the couple decided to stay.
