Oleksandr Levchenko

“When Russian soldiers entered our yard, we were afraid to leave the cellar”

Oleksandr and his family were hiding from the constant explosions in the cellar. He heard enemy vehicles entering Makariv. His village in Kyiv Oblast was under occupation for 34 days.

The front line passed there. During that time, the Russian armed forces occupied the territory and killed more than 200 village residents. The house where Oleksandr and his family lived was used by the Russians as a base. The Russian military dug a trench in front of the gate. And they put their military equipment in the yard.
