Kateryna and her three-year-old daughter Amina came under a missile strike on 24 June 2025 while traveling on the passenger train Odesa–Zaporizhzhia. Mother and child were taken to hospital with shrapnel wounds. Amina was diagnosed with a blast injury, concussion, closed head trauma, and an open wound to the head. She later underwent rehabilitation at a sanatorium in Zakarpattia supported by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and is now feeling much better.
