Piatykhatky is a settlement on the frontline in the Zaporizhzhia region. The village was under occupation for six months. Russian soldiers lived opposite Oleksandr's house. Piatykhatky was liberated in the summer of 2023.
The man himself almost died during a mortar attack. He recalls an almost mystical incident. How he missed death by a few minutes. Oleksandr's wife suffered a stroke twice. She is bedridden. The family owes their salvation to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The soldiers carried the sick woman for a kilometre and a half in their arms so that the couple could get out of the area of heavy shelling.
