“We had to eat soup with stones and chopsticks”

Halyna spent almost a month at Azovstal, eating with the soldiers who shared their rations with civilians. And then she left Mariupol on foot. She walked through burning streets, hundreds of corpses, and looters to the checkpoints. Then she took a bus to Yalta, from there to Berdiansk, and from there to Zaporizhzhia. She now lives in Kyiv.
