Nadiia is originally from Kharkiv and faced the war in Kyiv. Despite the shock and confusion, on the very first day she went home — to her daughter and granddaughters. It was there that she experienced the heaviest bombings, during which her daughter’s apartment was damaged. Later, when Nadiia was no longer in Kharkiv, her daughter was severely wounded and miraculously survived. Now Nadiia is back in Kyiv, near the Zhulyany airport, where almost every shelling leaves its mark on the buildings. Her strength lies in faith and in a small talisman — a pendant from her daughter, which she wears close to her heart, holding it as a symbol that even amid destruction, there is love that protects.
