"Daughter draws coffins with a writing on them "Yehor, Yehor, Yehor, Yehor"

Little Daryna went through a shock. Her friend Yehor was killed during the shelling right before her eyes, and Daryna was wounded. The girl couldn't come to her senses for a long time. Long sessions with psychologists began to help gradually. When Daryna grows up, she would like to become a psychologist

We were taught at school: if a shelling begins, we should lie down and cover our heads with our hands, and Yehor… He wasn't there because he was ill

Daryna:

My friend Yehor was eight. We were walking with Yehor. Then Yehor said, "Look, something's banging." I said, "Well, let's run to your place." We thought it would be better if we ran fast through the garden. There is an alley that lead to his street. And the air turned grey. Fragments were flying everywhere.

We were taught at school: if a shelling begins, we should lie down and cover our heads with our hands, and Yehor… He wasn't there because he was ill. So we were running, and I shouted at him, "Yehor, get down, get down!" And he didn't lie down. He fell near the blue gate. Well, I thought he was hit by fragments as well as I was.

Mother Olena Manukalova, 32 years old:

Daughter draws coffins with a writing on them

I was with the youngest child at home when the shelling began all of  a sudden. I couldn't just leave the younger child. I couldn't run after the older one. It was terrible. My child was caught in the thick of it. There were also a girl, a boy, and a few adults. They were also injured. And then we got a call from the trauma unit and told that she was there.

The doctors didn't notice a fragment at first. So they left it. And then my daughter said, "Mum, my back hurts." We went to see a neurologist. She had an X-ray, and doctors saw that there was a small fragment left in the back. She said that lying on something hard like on as the floor, was painful.

Daryna:

When it's cloudy, my back hurts a lot. I can't bend down. I can just lie there, that's all.

Olena:

I ask, "What are you drawing?" She says, "Yehor." I tell her to draw some flowers, something like that. The psychologist asked her to draw a tree. She said, "Draw a tree, and I will draw what I want."

And so she draws either a live Yehor, or only coffins with an inscription "Yehor, Yehor, Yehor, Yehor" on these coffins. It scared me as a mother. I showed it to a psychologist. My daughter told me that she dreams of Yehor. She said, "Mother, I shouted to him: get down, fall! Why didn't he hear me?"

The girls Maia, Dasha and Vira who went to the same group in the kindergarted were injured. Yehorka was killed. Four children.

Daryna:

Rinat Leonidovich gave me a trip voucher. So my mother and I went there.

Olena:

They called us and said that they had a rehabilitation program for children. So we agreed to apply. We went there. I would like to express my gratitude to him for this, because she saw psychologists. She became more peaceful.

Daryna:
I'll be a psychologist. I liked that the psychologist always explains and cheers up the children.
