Anastasiia Shamrai met the war in Irpin. On 5 March 2022, her family, together with their neighbours, decided to evacuate. They left through a checkpoint that came under mortar fire. The family survived! Already an hour after their departure, russian tanks began shooting at their building.
They returned to Irpin only after the city was liberated, when electricity and water were restored. Nastia dreams of becoming an architect and working on rebuilding after the war ends.
She shared her story while taking part in the “Peaceful Vacation for the Children of Ukraine” programme in Zakarpattia, organised by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
