During the invasion, Iryna lived with her family in the Prymorskyi district of Mariupol. "When the first shell hit, our windows flew out. I had just entered the house when I heard an explosion. I shouted to my husband: "We got hit by something". The house was green and smelly. We went down to the basement.

We cooked every three days. They took a roll call to see if everyone was alive. A killed girl was lying in the alley. Houses were burning. It was scary. My neighbour had just left the stove. A shell hit the house.

We hoped it would end soon. My granddaughter said: "Grandma, I don't want to die". We saw a ship, Grad rockets and a tank shooting at the city," said Iryna, a resident of Mariupol.
