I am a mother of two five-year-old twins. We have been living in a room of a former city hostel for several months, having moved from the village of Shyrokyne.
The children have two soft toys – two ducklings that helped them survive the worst period. They were given to the children when they a year old. Sons slept with them in the basement while the bombing was ongoing.
We stayed there for three days. On the third day, a shell hit the house, and we left. Unfortunately, we had to leave it all behind. We had 5-10 minutes to take the children and leave.
We have to tighten our belt very tight. There are probably tens of thousands of families like us. This misfortune forced us to leave our native home.
