The Savyntsi territorial community in the Kharkiv region was occupied by russians from March 2 to September 10, 2022. It was six months of torture and abuse, recalls local resident of Savyntsi village Liubov Yalnytska.

She describes violence and torture by the russian military. She recalls how a man from a neighbouring village was killed just because he spoke Ukrainian. Dozens of community members went missing. The family of Yalnytska was taken out of the occupation by a young man named Vania. It was thanks to his efforts that Liubov and her family escaped from hell.

This interview was recorded in Poland, at a humanitarian centre for Ukrainian refugees.
