Valerii Mushchytskyi's family home was destroyed by mines. He and his wife barely survived the shelling, with Valerii shielding his wife with his own body. One of the large fragments passed very close to the couple. It was this fragment that Serhii preserved and donated to the Museum. As a testament to what civilians had to endure during the war.
